About Flyway IQ
Flyway IQ is an independent, free Missouri waterfowl data directory operated by Mason Bennett. It brings scattered public hunting information into one place. No login or subscription is required.
We are not the Missouri Department of Conservation, a land manager or an outfitter. Flyway IQ does not grant access, reserve blinds or guarantee hunting results. Check official area notices and regulations before a trip.
Where the numbers come from
- MDC area harvest reports and separately published pool/location boards retain their dates and source links. A report date is not necessarily a confirmed hunt date. Missing reports are not zero harvest.
- MDC bird surveys count birds present when surveyed. They are separate from harvest totals and are not a real-time migration prediction.
- NWS forecasts describe predicted weather. Historical weather observations are separate and matched tentatively to report dates.
- USGS nearby river observations provide regional context. They do not measure managed-pool depths or establish access.
- Official map links and dated wetland notices help planning. Map outlines and location pins are not permission to hunt.
What updates automatically
A cloud job checks the current and latest-listed MDC seasons, recent available location boards, bird surveys, NWS forecasts and USGS readings daily. It validates dates and counts before publishing. Failed checks retain the previous good records with their original observation dates and failure labels. Older archives and wetland notice summaries require separate review.
Collection time, source observation time and forecast issue time mean different things. Rechecking an old survey does not make it a new count. Historical similarities are exploratory comparisons, not predictions or proof that weather caused more harvest.
